This weekend I saw “Diana Vreeland- The Eye Has to Travel.” I was so inspired by Mrs. Vreeland’s passion for style, fashion, and every other aspect of her work. Even though she wasn’t conventionally beautiful, she was the embodiment of what I find most beautiful in people: spirit and originality. The film brought her infectious spirit to life! I loved it!

I have always admired Helen Keller. When I was a little girl I watched The Miracle Worker and was in awe. I just couldn’t imagine being both blind and deaf, learning to talk, and then going on to be so successful through inspiring others. My best friend Peggy and I would spend hours learning the alphabet in sign language. As an adult I would try to get my kids to write reports and read books about Helen Keller, to no avail.
So on this Monday morning as I dread going to work I’m going to think of Helen Keller and appreciate my blessings.
My name is Paulanne but everyone calls me "Paula." I'm a midlife mom of 4 trying to stay sane until my nest is empty. This blog is my place to share the things that inspire me: interiors, fashion, and living a meaningful life.
